Appraiser Lukáš Křístek: The new law is all stick and no carrot

Court appraisers should follow more stringent rules beginning in 2021. According to the government, this should improve their work, among other things because the standard will impose a penalty of up to half a million Czech crowns for expert misconduct. This week, after six months, the House re-approved the new law again, outvoting the Senate veto. The law will now be sent to the president for signing. According to the Chamber of Court Appraisers, the new rules have not been carefully thought through and will not work, a sentiment appraiser Lukáš Křístek of Moore Stephens ZNALEX, appraiser institute, agrees with.
